Last night, I unveiled a new book trailer for The Mereland Chronicles: The Crier, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you all. This latest teaser captures the emotional core of the story; separation, longing, and the unseen forces pulling Hannah and Henry apart.
The Inspiration Behind the Trailer
When creating this, I wanted to focus on the tension between my two protagonists. Hannah, mysterious and focused, walks one path, while Henry, devoted yet conflicted, follows another. The imagery of them moving apart, back-to-back, step by step, mirrors the deeper themes of the novel: love and loss, trust and betrayal. Set against the haunting strains of sorrowful music, I designed it to linger in the mind, much like I hope the story will when it’s released.
Keeping the Mystery Alive
You’ll notice that neither Hannah nor Henry’s faces are shown. This was intentional. I want readers to form their own impressions of these characters, imagining them in ways that resonate personally. Instead, the focus is on their body language, the landscape around them, and the emotions those elements convey.
How Did I Create it?
While I am quite at home writing and editing [repeated MANY times] to produce a story, I am no artist/graphic designer/videographer. However, my geek side wanted to experiment with the developing field of AI created images and videos, to see if I could bring my story [physically] to life. So while waiting for my development editor to review my work, I dabbled. The result impressed me, although it’s no match for a professionally created video. Thats a luxury someway out of my price range. But for an experiment, its was an interesting .
